This advanced photography course is an in-depth study of a singular area of contemporary photographic practice. Topics include The Body and the Lens; Documentary Strategies; Photo Book Works; Alternative Processes; History & Practice of Photography; The Portrait in Photography. Students will expand their skills using darkroom and/or digital photographic techniques and will develop methods of professional art practice and presentation. Through individual and group work, students will develop critical perspectives and become more fully fluent in the aesthetic concepts and historical precedents associated with a specific photographic theme or practice.
