Description:
Allows students to gain experience under the supervision of a clinical preceptor and/or clinical instructor for an average of sixteen hours per week. This course focuses on critical care, cardiopulmonary laboratory, pulmonary rehabilitation, and home-care. A research project is also required for presentation and publication. Clinical experience includes observation, patient rounds, clinical simulations, and practical work situations. A course fee is is required. Enrollment is limited to students in the Respiratory Therapist program. Prerequisite: RESP 230, 235, 240, and 250 with a grade of C or higher. Corequisite: RESP 270 or permission of the program director.
