Inquiries into reading and literature in middle and high school classrooms. Special emphases on strategies for motivation, engagement and support in reading; creating appropriate learning contexts; expanding student choice and book selection; and alternative methods of assessing reading/ literature achievement. Required for B.S.Ed. in English. Course should be taken prior to Advanced Professional Studies block (preferably as juniors or seniors).
