(Writing Intensive Course). Students will gain knowledge and understanding of key literary movements, concepts, and works in British literature from the Middle Ages, the Early Modern Period, and the Restoration and the Eighteenth century by reading poems, letters, essays, and novels. Students will undertake heavy reading and writing-intensive activities which will help them learn critical reading strategies and reading comprehension so that they can appreciate British literary art. Students will also write two research-based papers that closely examine particular works, characters, devices, themes, and contexts. Pre-Requisite: HEN113.
