Description:
This is an advanced drawing course for in-depth study of the techniques, materials, and history of Renaissance drawing. The class will focus on refining drawing skills and expressing both contemporary and traditional drawing ideas through the use of traditional drawing instruments and materials. Over the course of the semester, students will learn a range of traditional art materials and techniques. Class sessions will be divided between material workshops, structured drawing sessions from observation, and drawing sessions that you will use to build personal imagery. Time will also be set aside for technique demonstrations, slide lectures, and critiques. A minimum of six (6) hours of class time and three (3) hours of work outside of class is required per week.
