This course introduces the concept of fine art in a social and cultural context. Students will achieve a comfort with terms, mediums, and evaluation of fine art today and reference the history of art. We will explore the reasons and methods of making fine art. This course will address social issues through art and art history. Students will gain insight into important questions of fine art and its functions in social and historic contexts around the globe.
