Among authors read and discussed are William Bradford, Anne Bradstreet, Jonathan Edwards, Thomas Paine, Olaudah Equinao, Phyllis Wheatley, Samuel Clemens, W.E.B. DuBois, Stephen Crane, T. S. Eliot, William Faulkner, Gertrude Stein, Ralph Ellison, John Updike, Norman Mailer, Robert Lowell, Allen Ginsberg, and Toni Morrison.
