ELEC 207 - Solid State Circuits

Institution:
Northampton County Area Community College
Subject:
Electronics Technology
Description:
This is the first of a two-course sequence in linear electronics. The course provides background on the basic operating characteristics of key semiconductor devices (diodes, transistors, FETs, Opto-isolators, OpAmps, 555 Timers and voltage regulators); however, the emphasis is on the operation, analysis, selection, test and design of modern electronic circuits and systems. Topics to be covered in this course include: Rectifier circuits; transistor switching circuits; open and closed-loop amplifier operation and feedback concepts; Inverting, non-inverting, differential, and instrumentation amplifiers; Rectifier and regulator circuits. Lab work will include projects that utilize oscilloscopes and functions generators as well as S/W simulation tools.
