This course introduces basic common law and statutory concepts of family law and domestic relations. Topics include, among others, marriages, separation, divorce, annulment, martial property, the parent-child relationship, child custody and supports, adoptions, guardianship, domestic relations court procedures, and the paralegal's role in the delivery of family law legal services. Ethical obligations, family law terminology and relevant technology in domestic relations practice are also presented. Offered fall semester only.
