Humanities 180 is an introductory humanities course focusing on the pre-colonial through contemporary cultures and civilizations of continental Affricans. Through the interpretation of various texts and artistic expressions, including scholarly works, literary and non-literary texts, film, art and/or music, students will learn about the migratory patterns, philosophies, cultural histories, and sociopolitical structures of select African societies. Specifically, students will examine the valuues, beliefs, practices, and the various institituions throught which these are transmitted.
