This course begins to build student understanding of and competency in the technical analysis, the storage and retrieval and the legal aspects of health care documentation. Students are introduced to the classification systems, nomenclatures, indexing and special registries used to organize health information as well as to the procedures surrounding informed consent and release of patient information.
