3-0-3 The course introduces students to the language of medicine. They define, analyze, and build terms as well as develop a working vocabulary of combining forms, prefixes and suffixes. Students learn medical terms (and their abbreviations where appropriate) for organs, diseases, symptoms, and for diagnostic, treatment, and surgical procedures. They also develop the ability to pronounce and spell terms correctly, and to use them in an appropriate context.
