The course places students at affiliated health information departments. It provides them with the opportunity to apply knowledge from the classroom to the clinical setting. Emphasis is placed in specialized applications of health record keeping in areas such as ICD-9 and CPT coding and reimbursement, tumor registry, long term care, rehabilitation facilities and quality management.
