Metric system, introduction to matter, atomic structure, chemical bonding, periodic table, chemical reactions and equations, gases, solutions, pH and introductory organic chemistry. Scientific notation, the use of conversion factors and problem-solving are stressed. For allied health students and fire science students, as well as students who need additional preparation prior to taking CHEM 121-122.
