Description:
This course is a comprehensive survey of the recreational activities, and facilities of a model community. The various types of agencies that govern and administer recreational programs will be analyzed and studied. The course will examine the trends in leisure time available, philosophies of education for leisure, programs in outdoor and indoor recreation, outdoor education and camping. Students will study and observe through field trips all levels of recreation leadership from the county down. A 5-day overnight camping experience is required.
