A continuation of CHEM 121. Topics emphasized include chemical reactions, properties of liquids and solids and changes of state, solutions, reaction kinetics, chemical equilibria, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry. Equilibria topics include gaseous reactions as well as the ionization of weak acids and bases, hydrolysis of salts, buffers, slightly soluble salts, and complex ion formation. Lecture and laboratory.
