Description:
The program is designed to give the student a supervised, work-study experience in the functions and day-to-day operations of historical agencies, archives, museums, or sites - public or private. Open to qualified juniors and seniors majoring in history or related fields, the program consists of closely-supervised periods of employment and study arranged by the campus coordinator in the Department of History in consultation with the participating agency and the University. The number of semester hours and the number of clock hours will vary according to the program needs of the student and the requirements of the employing agency, from a minimum of 3 c.h. to a maximum of 15. The amount of time involved in the Internship and the number of credits allowed for it will be approved by the Department of History, and the department coordinator will inform the student of any special prerequisites for particular internships.
