Introductory course for chemistry majors. This course is the first half of a two-semester sequence designed to give students the foundation of knowledge and laboratory techniques required to successfully complete a chemistry degree program. Topics include atomic theory, an intro- duction to chemical reactions, stoichiometry, thermo- chemistry, chemical bonding, and molecular geometry, transition metal complexes, polymers and biomolecules.
