The study of socially and culturally diverse literature, plays, and films. Students address such topics as social and historical backgrounds of various minority cultures. America as the gatherer of cultures, the new Hollywood awareness, and non-traditional casting in mainstream productions are also considered. Prerequisites: Eligibility for enrollment in ENGL 101 and completion of any reading courses required by the College Testing and Placement Program.
