This course explores the fundamental concepts in the discipline of Political Science as based in the philosophies of governing and the structure of economies. The sub-fields within the field will be explored through analysis of different forms of governments and the roles of the civic community in the international arena. Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: Assess the political philosophies that led to the formation of governments; Analyze the relationship between the nation-states and their economies; State and define the essential concepts in the discipline of political science; Contrast different government formations in the global arena; Discern the roles of the civic community within their nation-state.
