Description:
This course, designed for native writers of English, helps students develop editing strategies for making prose writing more effective. Using personal, peer, and professional texts, students will focus on issues of correctness and style. Specifically, they will learn to create prose that is correct in syntax, usage, and punctuation and to adapt prose style to fit a variety of audiences and situations. Editing will be viewed within the context of the composing process as a whole and concepts will be examined within a social, historical, and political perspective.
