The first in a two-semester sequence of calculus-based introductory physics courses presenting the principles of classical mechanics and thermal physics. Topics include kinematics, vectors, Newton's laws, energy and momentum, rotational motion, thermodynamics and kinetic theory. Laboratory exercises emphasize proper measurement techniques, error analysis and preparation of laboratory reports.
