Description:
The student will explore Sculpture with an increased level of production, critique, history and aesthetics. This course is intended to increase skill level while continuing to develop the student's personal aesthetic. Students will demonstrate a variety of sculptural techniques while understanding Sculpture's contemporary and historical contexts. Students are expected to be self-motivated in terms of idea generation and execution. Students will explore avenues to make their work more personal by combining technical skills with form and concept. primary emphasis will be placed on technical refinement alongside development of creative problem-solving skills. Through creative studio practice, students should develop the following emphasized artistic traits: ability to resist premature closure: sensitivity to problems; ability to synthesize.
